GREGORY BOYLE FROM POUND HILL JAILED IN LONDON FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT ON PREGNANT WOMAN AT PRUH HOSPITAL
The image shown is of Gregory Boyle, a man from Mount Close in Pound Hill, who pretended to be a specialist doctor to sexually assault a vulnerable pregnant woman in hospital.
Boyle has recently lost an appeal to reduce his prison sentence.
He deceived his victim into believing he was a cardiologist while she lay in a hospital bed, during which he touched her intimately and inserted a probe into her private parts.
The assault was interrupted when a nurse entered the room and raised concerns about his identity.
Boyle, aged 59, was sentenced to six years and four months in prison by Croydon Crown Court in May after pleading guilty to charges of assault by penetration and sexual assault.
On November 9, he appealed against the length of his sentence, but three senior judges at the Court of Appeal in London confirmed that his punishment was appropriate for the serious crimes committed.
The attack took place at the Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH) in Farnborough, Kent, where the victim was receiving treatment.
It was revealed that prior to the assault, the victim’s partner had conducted building work at Boyle’s home in Crawley and had confided in him about her pregnancy and a heart condition.
