KIRKCALDY MAN SENTENCED FOR CHILD AND ANIMAL ABUSE MATERIAL
Gregor Deas, a man from Kirkcaldy, had a collection of repulsive files that included images and videos depicting sexual activity between humans and animals, as well as child abuse material.Police searched his home on November 7 last year following intelligence that suggested he accessed indecent images of children there.
Two computer towers were seized, containing a total of 434 files—111 videos and 323 images—of child sexual abuse, including 77 images and 29 videos rated as the most graphic Category A.
The images showed females and males estimated to be between four and 15 years old, with a total video runtime of approximately two hours and five minutes.
The discovered media also included 16 extreme pornographic videos and 12 images predominantly depicting sexual acts between women and dogs, with one image showing a man “penetrating” a horse.
A second computer tower contained a Category C video showing three young girls, aged around 10 to 13, exposing their bottoms and breasts briefly.
Deas pleaded guilty to charges involving the download of indecent images of children between October 13 and November 3 last year.
He was sentenced to 150 hours of unpaid work, placed under offender supervision for two years, and registered as a sex offender for two years.
The court’s sheriff noted that Deas had been “entirely open and honest” with the social work report author, recognized his issues, and was taking steps to address them.
Sheriff Robert More emphasized that Deas’s conduct was more transparent than many other offenders of similar crimes.
