Cambridge Rapist
In a deeply disturbing case that has shocked the community of Cambridge, Greg Kedienhon, a 27-year-old man with no fixed address, has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term after being convicted of heinous crimes involving a young girl. The offenses occurred while Kedienhon was temporarily residing at a house in Cambridge, where he committed acts of sexual assault and rape against a seven-year-old girl over a period of two years.

The victim, who was only seven years old at the time, confided in police and social services about the abuse she endured at the hands of Kedienhon. Her disclosures revealed that the abuse had been ongoing for two years, starting from when she was just a child. The initial report was made in October 2015 through an anonymous call to social services, which prompted an investigation into the allegations.

It was only a year later that the young girl felt sufficiently brave and ready to disclose the full extent of her suffering, leading authorities to launch a formal investigation. The police quickly moved to apprehend Kedienhon, who was arrested in early 2017. Despite his arrest, he maintained his innocence and denied all charges brought against him.

The case proceeded to trial at Peterborough Crown Court, beginning on December 11. After a thorough examination of the evidence, the jury found Kedienhon guilty of rape and two counts of sexual assault. The verdict marked a significant step in delivering justice for the young victim and her family.

On February 4, the court handed down a severe sentence, sentencing Kedienhon to a total of 15 years in prison. In addition to his custodial sentence, he was subjected to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) that will remain in effect for 15 years. This order restricts him from having any unsupervised contact with children under the age of 18 and prohibits him from engaging in any voluntary or paid activities involving minors. Furthermore, Kedienhon was placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life, ensuring ongoing monitoring and restrictions to protect the community from further harm.
