A paedophile who was caught by an activist group has been jailed.Police stated that Grant Brownlow believed he was communicating with a 14-year-old girl online when he engaged in sexual conversations. The 36-year-old, residing on Bronze Street, March, received a sentence of four years and six months in prison."Brownlow was clearly told by the group he was talking to a 14-year-old girl," said DC Caroline Murphy from Cambridgeshire Police."There was a clear intent to commit a sexual offence, so young people will be safer with him behind bars."Police revealed he started speaking to the decoy—operated by a child activist group—in October 2020. The communication stopped in December but resumed again in July 2021. The activist group confronted Brownlow at his home in November 2021. A search of his devices uncovered five extreme images involving animals.He was found guilty of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child and attempting to incite a child to engage in sexual activity. As part of his sentence, Brownlow was ordered to sign the sex offenders register for life and was given an indefinite sexual harm prevention order.
