GREASBY MAN CAUGHT WITH SECRET COLLECTION OF INTERNET CHILD PORN
A Greasby man was caught with a secret collection of child porn images, a court has heard.Police executed a search warrant at Graham France's home on December 17 last year after they received intelligence from America about his illicit internet usage.
His computer tower was seized and when it was analysed it was found that it included 74 still images and a further 646 movie clips.
David Evans, prosecuting, said that the movies were in all five categories including 73 in the most serious involving sadism.
Pony-tailed France, of Greasby Road, pleaded guilty at Liverpool Crown Court to 14 charges of making indecent images between September 24, 2008 and December 17 last year.
Christopher Williams, defending, said that at the time of the offences, 38-year-old France had been going through emotional difficulties following the breakdown of his relationship.
He also had financial problems and was drinking to excess.
He had begun by looking at adult porn and then this led to child porn.
He had found it difficult to accept that what he was doing was inappropriate but now accepts that he has a problem for which he needs help.
Judge Adrian Lyon said: "What you were involved in was disgusting.
The effect it has on the children who are on those photographs I hate to even contemplate." He said that the public would be better served with France, who has no previous convictions, undertaking an intensive sex offenders programme rather than being sent to prison.
He made a three-year community order and ordered him to attend the Northumbria sex offenders programme and an alcohol "choices and change" programme.
