Girdaware Basra, aged 68, and Onkar Basra, aged 57, who now resides in Rugby, Warwickshire, were convicted at Woolwich Crown Court after a trial in which they both denied the charges. The offences included rape and unlawful sexual intercourse; Girdaware was additionally charged with indecent assault. The investigation was initiated three years ago following a victim’s report in 2021. Girdaware Basra received a 14-year sentence, while Onkar Basra was sentenced to 11 years.
