TOTTENHAM SEX PREDATOR GHEORGHE AVADANI JAILED FOR 22 YEARS
A sexual predator from Tottenham who violently raped a prostitute and a woman with a mental health condition has been sentenced.Gheorghe Avadani, 31, of West Green Road, was found guilty of four counts of rape, one count of false imprisonment, two counts of assault by penetration, and one count of causing actual bodily harm, receiving a 22-year jail term.
According to reports, Avadani trapped a sex worker in Selsdon Road, east London, and repeatedly raped her during an overnight assault, as detailed in court.
He had earlier propositioned this victim after seeing her near Upton Park Tube station in September 2008, agreeing on a price, then locking her in his flat and forcing her to perform sex acts against her will.
He disappeared after the attack, and police initially couldn't locate him.
In 2009, he targeted another vulnerable Tottenham woman with a mental health condition, forcing his way into her home, raping her, and leaving his wallet at the scene—a vital clue leading to his arrest in Palmers Green.
Investigations linked him to the earlier rape in east London.
Detective Constable Karen Bramley praised the victims for their bravery and expressed hope that the sentence provides some reassurance, stating: "Avadani preyed on two vulnerable women, subjecting each victim to a calculating and violent attack."
