PAEDOPHILE WHOSE CRIMES WERE SO SHOCKING THEY MADE THE JURY CRY
A man convicted of grooming and abusing three young boys is set to receive a lengthy prison sentence.George Parker, aged 28 and currently residing on Parker Road in Leeds, formerly lived in Tunbridge Wells.
He faced accusations of committing 24 serious sexual offenses, which included multiple instances of rape, spanning from 2005 to 2013, involving three boys.
On Friday, December 7, despite denying all allegations, a jury at Maidstone Crown Court in Kent unanimously convicted him on 21 counts.
Parker, who previously worked at Sainsbury's, was informed by a judge that his crimes were particularly serious and that his potential threat to the public needed to be evaluated prior to sentencing.
The courtroom was emotionally affected, with some jurors visibly upset after reaching their verdicts.
Judge Philip Statman expressed gratitude for their service, thanked them for fulfilling their civic duty, and exempted them from new jury service for the next seven years.
Parker now faces sentencing on multiple charges, including 11 counts of rape, one count of attempted rape, three counts of sexual assault on a minor, two counts of causing a child to partake in sexual activity, two counts of sexual activity with a child, and two counts of engaging in sexual acts without consent.
He was acquitted of one count of rape, one of sexual assault on a child, and one of causing a child to engage in sexual activity.
During his three-week trial, the court heard Parker was living in Tunbridge Wells when he groomed the boys while playing computer games.
He also made one watch pornography before indulging in his depraved acts.
Some of the offences were committed when Parker himself was just 14 years old.
It was said during his trial that he 'developed a hold over' one of his victims.
But he plucked up the courage in 2015 to report Parker to police and he was arrested.
