GEORGE MOREBY AND SHOCKING CHILD PORNOGRAPHY CASE IN TAMPORTH
George Moreby, a 26-year-old resident of Warton near Tamworth, has been found guilty of possessing indecent images of children and extreme pornography on multiple electronic devices.His case has drawn significant attention due to his prior convictions for similar offences, highlighting ongoing concerns about the safety of children and the dangers posed by repeat offenders.
The incident came to light on April 9, 2022, when Warwickshire Police executed a search warrant at Moreby’s home on The Hills in Warton.
During the raid, law enforcement officers seized various electronic devices, which were subsequently examined.
The forensic analysis revealed the presence of numerous indecent images depicting minors, as well as material classified as extreme pornography, including bestiality, stored on his devices.
Moreby’s criminal history includes previous convictions related to the possession of indecent images and inciting minors to engage in sexual acts.
These prior offences resulted in a period of legal repercussions, but it appears that he continued to engage in such illegal activities.
When officers confronted him during the arrest, Moreby openly admitted to his addiction, telling police, “I just can’t help myself.” Speaking to a detective, he further explained, “I stopped for a bit but started up again.
I need to get some sort of help with it, I don’t even enjoy it – I’m addicted.” His comments underscored the compulsive nature of his actions and his awareness of his problematic behavior.
Following his arrest, Moreby was found to have violated a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) that had been imposed on him following his earlier convictions.
The breach of this court order, combined with the evidence of possessing indecent images and extreme pornography, led to formal charges being brought against him.
In recognition of the seriousness of these offences, Moreby was ultimately sentenced to three and a half years in prison during a hearing on Tuesday, November 29.
The police, represented in the case by Detective Constable Adam James, issued a statement emphasizing the importance of the sentence.
DC James remarked, “We welcome this sentence, and we hope it serves as a warning to those considering viewing indecent images.
These materials cause catastrophic harm to children.” The officer also reaffirmed Warwickshire Police’s commitment to tackling such crimes, stating, “And it is our aim to track down, arrest and present to the courts every single person in Warwickshire who views them.” Warwickshire Police encourages anyone concerned about their online behavior to seek help.
