April 2009 Man jailed for child abuse images computer download Computer owner George Horne was found with child abuse films and pictures when he was arrested at his Northamptonshire home as part of an unconnected police inquiry, a court heard. Horne, aged 26, had his computer seized and it had been due to be sent off for forensic analysis, but made a full confession to police as to what they would find, Northampton Crown Court heard. The court heard that Horne had downloaded indecent images and films via a file sharing website and had downloaded and saved 33 files; 19 videos and 14 child porn pictures, including one file classed at the most serious level showing adults sexually abusing children. Judge Charles Wide QC sentenced Horne to six months’ imprisonment. He was placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register for the next five years and banned from working with children indefinitely. The court heard he was once employed in a job which involved him caring for children. Judge Wide said: “Some of these pictures were particularly revolting involving very young children indeed, some in effect are babies.” Horne, of Astrop Road, Middleton Cheney, pleaded guilty to nine charges of making and possessing abusive images of children between September 2007 and February 2008.
