ISLE OF WIGHT NURSERY WORKER JAILED FOR SHARING VILE SEX ABUSE IMAGES
An Isle of Wight paedophile, who worked as a team leader at a baby nursery, has been jailed after being caught with a hoard of vile child sex abuse images, videos, and extreme pornography.George Goodier, of Grace Woodford Drive, East Cowes, appeared for sentencing at the IW Crown Court on Friday, July 4.
The 24-year-old previously admitted to three counts of possession of indecent photographs/pseudo-photographs of children, three counts of distributing such images, and one count of possession of extreme pornography.The court heard he had in his possession 806 Category A images (585 videos), 575 Category B images (248 videos), and 204 Category C images (16 videos).
Additionally, he was caught distributing 252 images of extreme pornography, depicting sexual acts involving humans and dogs.He was arrested at his home on December 3, 2024, where police discovered videos of "baby boys" being raped.
During police interviews, Goodier admitted the offences, stating he had hoped he could stop himself before getting caught.Goodier had been a team leader at a nursery at the time of these offences.
His defence argued that prison would prevent him from accessing support services, suggesting a two-year suspended sentence.
However, the judge, James Newton-Price, noted Goodier was assessed as a high risk of harm to children and decided that a custodial sentence was necessary.Judge Newton-Price sentenced Goodier to two years in prison and imposed a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
He will serve at least half of his sentence behind bars, with the rest to be served in the community, ensuring public protection.
