BANBURY PAEDOPHILE SENTENCED FOR KISSING 14-YEAR-OLD GIRL

A paedophile has been jailed for almost three years after kissing a 14-year-old girl and taking her clothes off.

George Dobrin was sentenced at Oxford Crown Court on Wednesday (January 8) for two counts of sexual activity with a child, who cannot be named for legal reasons.

The court heard that in February 2022, the 40-year-old had put his tongue in the teenage girl’s mouth and on a separate occasion taken her clothes off.

Dobrin, of Woodfield, Banbury, initially denied the charges but pleaded guilty at the start of his trial on October 21 last year.

He expressed remorse, stating, “My behaviour was completely unacceptable.

[She] was a minor, that is completely wrong.

I don’t know what was in my head at the time, I don’t know what was going through my mind.

I don’t know why I did it then, it was a long time ago, so I don’t know anything about it night.” Judge Nigel Daly sentenced Dobrin to 32 months in prison, citing his lack of previous convictions and difficult upbringing.

The judge said, “You have no previous convictions and you had a difficult upbringing.

I take into account your difficult background.” Prosecutor Brain Reece detailed the incidents, stating, “On February 16, Dobrin put his hands on the girl’s waist and bottom, kissed her with his tongue in her mouth, and asked to touch her private parts.

He took her hand and tried to put it on his genitals and told her she was beautiful.” He recounted a second incident several days later, where Dobrin was caught attempting to remove the girl’s clothes and again tried to kiss and touch her private parts, mentioning she didn’t know how nice it would feel.

The girl asked him to leave, and when caught by an adult, Dobrin claimed he was just smoking and talking with the girl.

Dobrin has no previous convictions.

His lawyer highlighted his full-time night shift manual labour job and his support to his family in Romania, arguing that custody would unfairly impact his family financially.

During sentencing, Dobrin was also ordered to a five-year restraining order against the girl and to be subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for life and notification requirements for life.
