CROOK MAN APPEARS IN COURT CHARGED WITH SEXUAL ASSAULT OF TEENAGE GIRL

A male individual has appeared before the court facing charges related to the sexual assault of a teenage girl in County Durham.

Geoffrey Pickersgill, aged 68 and residing at Scafell Gardens, Crook, was detained on Sunday after reports emerged of a teenage girl being sexually assaulted.

He was subsequently charged with one count of sexual assault and assault by penetration.

The 68-year-old made an appearance at Teesside Magistrates’ Court on Monday, July 14.

During the hearing, no pleas were entered, and he was remanded into custody.

His next court appearance is scheduled for Teesside Crown Court on August 12.
