KENT TUTOR GEOFFREY OBORN JAILED FOR ABUSE OF PUPILS
A private mathematics tutor who sexually assaulted three students during the 1980s has received a sentence of seven and a half years in prison.Former teacher Geoffrey Oborn, aged 79, repeatedly offensive towards two teenage girls and a young boy in Kent.
He denied 13 counts of indecent assault and one of gross indecency, but a jury found him guilty.
At Maidstone Crown Court, Judge Philip Statman sentenced him and commented that Oborn lived a secret double life and exploited his victims' vulnerabilities.
He remarked to Oborn, "You must have thought, as the years passed by, that you had got away with it." Oborn, who resides on Wheatfield Drive in Cranbrook, committed these acts between 1981 and 1984.
He was prohibited from working with children or vulnerable adults and was registered as a sex offender.
