GAVIN MORRISON SENTENCED IN FIFE FOR PREDATORY SEXUAL OFFENSES IN KIRKCALDY
Gavin Morrison, aged 44, was formally sentenced on Monday, 23 September 2024, at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court, following his conviction related to a series of disturbing sexual offences carried out within the Kirkcaldy area of Fife.The court's decision came after Morrison was found guilty on Wednesday, 28 August 2024, during a trial held at the same court.
The case drew significant attention from law enforcement and the local community, highlighting the serious nature of Morrison's crimes.
Detective Constable Carol Fraser, based in Glenrothes, publicly addressed the media and community members, emphasizing the severity of Morrison's actions.
She described him as a "predatory sexual offender" who targeted young females in their local neighborhoods, often while they were simply walking or playing in public spaces.
Detective Fraser further stated, "Gavin Morrison has shown no remorse for his deplorable actions, which he committed over a period spanning from 2015 to 2022." Her comments underscored the prolonged period during which Morrison engaged in these criminal acts, causing distress and fear among the victims and their families.
She also expressed gratitude towards those who came forward to assist in the investigation, acknowledging their courage and resilience.
Fraser added, "I would like to thank those involved for their strength in coming forward during this investigation and criminal trial.
