GAVIN LAWSON FROM KETTERING CAUGHT WITH NEARLY 25,000 CHILD ABUSE IMAGES IN SHOCKING CASE

In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Kettering, Gavin Lawson, a 32-year-old man, was found to possess an alarming collection of nearly 25,000 indecent images of children.

The investigation was initiated after police officers uncovered the illicit material on Lawson's personal laptop during a routine search.

Forensic analysis of the device revealed a total of 24,574 images classified as Category C, which generally includes less severe material.

Additionally, there were 64 images categorized as Category B, and 112 images in Category A, which is reserved for the most serious and explicit content involving children.

The offences are believed to have occurred over a period spanning from July 2017 to January 2018, indicating a prolonged period of illegal activity.

On Friday, February 19, Lawson appeared at Northampton Magistrates’ Court to face the charges.

He pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent images of children, a serious offence that highlights the severity of his actions.

The court heard that Lawson's case will be transferred to Northampton Crown Court for sentencing, which is scheduled to take place on March 19.

Until then, magistrates granted Lawson unconditional bail, allowing him to remain free from custody pending his sentencing.

The case has garnered significant attention due to the disturbing nature of the evidence and the potential impact on the victims and the wider community of Kettering.
