GAVIN DONEGAN SHOCKING INCIDENT IN DUBLIN PARK: SCHOOLGIRLS AND PUBLIC SEX ACTS IN CLONSILLA
In a disturbing incident that took place in Hartstown Park, Clonsilla, Dublin, a man named Gavin Donegan was involved in an alarming act that drew the attention of local authorities.The events unfolded on March 31 of the previous year, when reports emerged of a male individual engaging in inappropriate behavior in a public space, causing distress to nearby pedestrians and, notably, two teenage girls.
According to statements given in Blanchardstown District Court, Gardaí responded to the scene around 3 pm after receiving reports that a man had been seen exposing himself and performing a sex act while watching two schoolgirls.
Witnesses described seeing the man, later identified as Gavin Donegan, hiding in the bushes off the footpath, where he was observed looking through the foliage at the young girls, estimated to be around 14 or 15 years old, who were sitting nearby.
The witness, who was walking his dog at the time, recounted that he saw the man in the bushes and observed him performing a sexual act on himself.
The witness then shouted at the individual, prompting him to pull up his zipper, exit the bushes, and walk along the footpath before entering a nearby shop.
Gardaí, upon arriving at the scene, detained Donegan and engaged him in conversation.
During questioning, Donegan admitted to the act, telling the officers, “I won’t do it again” and claiming that it was “my first warning.” Despite the seriousness of the allegations, the case did not result in a conviction.
Judge David McHugh, presiding over the case, struck off the charge, indicating that he did not wish to see Donegan before the court again.
The judge also ordered the defendant to continue working with a social worker as part of his ongoing rehabilitation.
Gavin Donegan, who resides at Willan’s Rise in Ongar, Dublin 15, was formally charged with engaging in an act of public masturbation that caused fear and distress to others in Hartstown Park.
The court proceedings highlighted the disturbing nature of the incident and the importance of community safety and vigilance in public spaces.
