GAVIN AITCHISON OF ABERDEEN ADMITS TO POSSESSING INDECENT CHILD VIDEOS
In September 2012, Gavin Aitchison, aged 42, admitted to having indecent videos of children stored on his computer and was subsequently placed on the sex offenders’ register.
Aberdeen Sheriff Court was informed that Aitchison possessed a total of 11 indecent videos featuring children on his home computer.
Of these, six videos were classified at level four, which is considered the second most severe category.
Aitchison pleaded guilty to charges of taking or allowing the taking of indecent images or pseudo-images of children between September 6, 2009, and January 12, 2010, at his residence in Inverurie.
He also entered a plea of not guilty to a separate charge concerning possession of indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs of children between March 1, 2009, and March 15, 2010.
The crown accepted his plea of guilty to this second charge.
