GARY PLANT'S SHOCKING CRIMES IN NELSON AND BURNLEY REVEALED
In a recent court hearing, Gary Plant, aged 31 and residing on Romney Street in Nelson, pleaded guilty to a serious offence involving his failure to adhere to the legal requirements of the Sex Offenders' Register.The court sentenced him to a 12-week prison term, which was suspended for a period of 12 months.
Additionally, he was mandated to complete 15 days of rehabilitation activities aimed at addressing his behaviour.
As part of the sentence, Plant was ordered to pay costs amounting to £85 and a victim surcharge of £115.
The case sheds light on a disturbing pattern of behaviour that has come to public attention.
Back in April 2018, it was revealed that Plant, a convicted paedophile, had engaged in a clandestine relationship with a mother of three children.
The court heard that he used a false name to conceal his identity and deliberately flouted the legal obligations associated with the Sex Offenders' Register.
Plant's criminal history includes a significant conviction from 2014, when he was sentenced to 32 months in prison after sending a Facebook message to a 15-year-old girl, asking her to meet for sex.
This previous conviction was for facilitating a child sex offence, and he was subsequently placed on the Sex Offenders' Register along with a five-year Sexual Offences Prevention Order.
The order required him to register any aliases or different names he used with the police within three days of adopting them.
The court was informed that Plant had started a sexual relationship with the woman after they met in a pub in Colne.
During their interactions, he stayed at her house, even when her children were present.
The woman expressed her feelings of sickness and anger upon discovering Plant's background and criminal history, which he had concealed from her.
Further details emerged that Plant had been actively avoiding compliance with the registration requirements.
