'WRONG NAME' FUELLED ATTACK
A jealous man launched a violent attack on his former partner after she mentioned the name of another man during love making, a court was told yesterday.
Gary Hawkins, formerly of Chapelfields Road, York, was jailed for 12 months on his 26th birthday after he admitted causing actual bodily harm to Louise Newell last May.
York Crown Court was told his victim had received 37 injuries to her face and body.
His barrister, Felicity Davies, said Hawkins had been drinking heavily and, in the course of sexual activity between them, his girlfriend mentioned another man's name, after which he became aggressive.
