ESSEX MAN JAILED FOR LIFE AFTER BRUTAL PARTNER MURDER
A controlling individual who murdered his partner and then engaged in a sinister scheme to conceal his heinous crimes has been sentenced to prison.Gary Bennett, aged 37, was caught on CCTV driving Madison Wright's car with her dead body in the trunk.The investigation revealed that Madison, 30, was last seen leaving her home in Pitsea, Essex, heading to her job as a cleaner.
She was murdered by Bennett after visiting him around 11am, where he strangled her.
Following the killing, Bennett sent a message to Madison's estranged husband saying: "Some stuff has come up at my place that I need to sort out, sorry," and inconsistent messages claiming she was still alive by using her phone to send texts to himself.
His DNA was found on her body, which was discovered on July 30 in a bushy area after her body was abandoned in a park.
Bennett’s attempts to deceive police included lying about her status and searching for information related to the murder probe on his phone.
He was later convicted of murder and sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 21 years.
During the trial, Bennett reacted with anger, screaming "how f***ing dare you" after the verdict was read.
The family of Madison expressed deep sorrow, with her mother stating: "Our whole family are victims of the defendant.
That one moment of evil resulted in loss for our family....
Madison will always be missed by the family and every time we get together there is a feeling that someone is missing." It was also revealed that Madison had been planning to leave her partner, texting him earlier that morning: "You're too controlling." The case highlighted the tragic and brutal nature of domestic violence that culminated in her murder.
