West Bromwich Sexual Abuser
In February 2014, Gareth Smallwood, now aged 35, is actively sought by law enforcement authorities after he failed to adhere to the conditions of his sexual offences order by neglecting to report to probation officials. This breach has prompted a police investigation and a public appeal for information regarding his whereabouts.

Previously, in June 2013, Smallwood, then 33 years old and residing in West Bromwich, was involved in a serious criminal case involving the grooming and sexual assault of a schoolgirl. He appeared before Burton magistrates court where he pleaded guilty to a single count of sexual assault against a child under the age of 16.

The case revealed that Smallwood, who works as an installation and refrigeration technician, had engaged in a grooming process over a period of three months. During this time, he built a relationship with the young girl, which eventually led to multiple sexual assaults. The victim, demonstrating remarkable courage, eventually came forward to report the abuse, which led to Smallwood’s arrest and subsequent conviction.

Following his guilty plea, Smallwood was sentenced to a series of penalties aimed at both punishment and rehabilitation. He was ordered to participate in a community sex offender group work programme, designed to address his offending behaviour. Additionally, he was disqualified from working with children for a period of five years and was placed on the sex offenders register for the same duration.

Furthermore, Smallwood was issued a five-year restraining order to prevent any contact with the victim or associated parties. As part of his sentence, he was also ordered to pay £500 in compensation to the victim and cover £85 in court costs. These measures reflect the seriousness of his offences and the efforts of the justice system to protect vulnerable individuals from potential harm.

Despite these penalties, authorities have now issued a warrant for his arrest due to his failure to comply with the reporting requirements of his sex offenders order, raising concerns about his current whereabouts and the safety of the community in West Bromwich.
