HARTLEPOOL MAN GARETH OWEN JAILED FOR CHILD PORN AND ANIMAL ABUSE IN SHOCKING CRIMES

In a disturbing series of criminal acts, Gareth Owen, a 22-year-old resident of Hartlepool, has been sentenced to an indefinite prison term following his involvement in heinous crimes involving child exploitation and animal abuse.

According to court records from Teesside Crown Court, Owen pleaded guilty to a total of 19 charges related to the possession and creation of indecent images of children, including 17 counts of making such images, one count of possessing them, and an additional charge of possessing extreme pornography. These offences came to light after Owen’s arrest, revealing a disturbing preoccupation with illegal and morally reprehensible material.

It was also disclosed that Owen was already serving a five-month sentence for causing unnecessary suffering to his Labrador, a dog named Andrex. During the court proceedings, it was further revealed that Owen had engaged in writing pornographic stories involving Pokémon characters, highlighting a pattern of deviant behavior.

Defence lawyer Nigel Hedley described Owen as a loner who had struggled throughout his life to interact with others of his age and older, suggesting that his social difficulties may have contributed to his troubling actions. The court was informed that Owen is now prohibited from working with children and will be required to sign the Sex Offenders’ Register upon his release. Additionally, he will be subject to a Sexual Offences Prevention Order, restricting his future conduct.

Judge Jonathan Sandiford addressed the court, stating that Owen appeared to be
