Hayle Child Sexual Abuser
In 2017, Frederick Jose, a 73-year-old resident of Guildford Road in Hayle, used photo editing software to superimpose the faces of local children onto pornographic images. Police officers, while investigating another matter, visited Jose's residence and discovered computer equipment stored in his shed.

Jose appeared before Truro Crown Court to be sentenced after admitting to three counts of possessing indecent images of children. The court learned that he was in possession of 10 Category A images, two Category B images, and 15 Category C images.

During the hearing, prosecutor Deni Mathews stated that Jose informed police during an interview that he created the images by overlaying children's faces onto bodies of adults engaged in sexual acts, some of which depicted penetration. Further investigations uncovered that some of the children's faces belonged to local youngsters, and recordings were also found showing people passing by his property, including two children sharing a kiss.

Judge Robert Linford sentenced Jose, saying: "You used regularly obtained images of children and superimposed them onto regular images of adult consensual activity. I have no doubt whatsoever you did this for your own sexual purposes regardless of what you say."

As part of his sentence, Jose received an eight-month prison term, suspended for two years. Additionally, he was required to complete a 25-day Rehabilitation Activity Requirement and was placed under a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
