FRASER MCBAIN'S BRUTAL CRIMES IN KIRKCALDY: TATTOO TERROR AND DOMESTIC ABUSE SENTENCE

A man named Fraser McBain, whose relentless pattern of domestic abuse spanned over two decades and included a particularly disturbing incident involving tattooing his own name onto a former partner without her consent, has been sentenced to four years in prison.

The heinous acts took place primarily at his residence on Invertiel Road in Kirkcaldy, a town in Fife, Scotland, and involved multiple victims over the years.

One of the most shocking episodes occurred between January and March 2013, when McBain assaulted a woman at his home.

During this attack, he forcibly pushed her into a chair, restrained her by holding her body, and used a tattoo gun to inscribe his name onto her skin against her will.

This act of violence left the woman with injuries and permanent disfigurement, a testament to the severity of McBain’s brutality.

The court proceedings revealed that McBain’s violent behavior was not isolated.

A jury found him guilty last month of six out of seven charges, some of which dated back more than twenty years.

The charges included domestic assaults and acts of physical violence against three different former partners.

McBain, aged 46 at the time of sentencing, faced a lengthy history of abuse, which was thoroughly examined during the trial.

At the sentencing hearing held at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court, Sheriff Alison McKay was presented with a testimonial letter from McBain’s employers, highlighting his contributions to society through work and family responsibilities.

His solicitor, Alan Jackson, acknowledged that McBain had a positive side, noting his efforts in raising children and caring for his aging parents.

However, he also emphasized that the court’s primary concern was the seriousness of the offenses committed.

Sheriff McKay did not shy away from the gravity of McBain’s actions.

She sentenced him to four years in custody, stating that the acts of choking one victim and tattooing another alone would warrant imprisonment.

Considering the cumulative nature of his crimes, she concluded that incarceration was unavoidable.

One of the most disturbing incidents involved McBain choking his then-partner to the point of unconsciousness during the winter of 2001/2002.

This assault took place on Hayfield Road in Kirkcaldy, where he seized her by the neck, shouted at her, and tightened his arm around her throat, restricting her breathing.

The attack resulted in her losing consciousness and falling to the ground.

Following this, McBain repeatedly kicked her and made threats of further violence, leaving her injured and traumatized.

Another victim, a second partner, also endured multiple assaults by McBain.

In January 2007, he attacked her at a flat on Pratt Street in Kirkcaldy by grabbing her head and pushing it against a cupboard door.

Earlier that year, he assaulted her at a cottage outside Kirkcaldy, pushing her repeatedly, causing her to fall and hit her head.

During the same summer, he assaulted her again at the cottage by slapping her face so hard that she fell, and then threw her across the room, causing her to crash into furniture.

The injuries sustained in these incidents were described as severe.

The third victim, another former partner, was subjected to a particularly disturbing ordeal in 2013.

McBain assaulted her at the town’s Asda supermarket, punching her in the head, which caused injuries, and threatening further violence.

The most notorious act was his attempt to tattoo her against her will, which resulted in permanent scarring.

He also faced allegations of pushing her down stairs while she was holding an infant, but the majority of jurors did not find sufficient evidence to convict him on that charge.

Throughout the trial, McBain denied all allegations and even gave evidence in his own defense, maintaining his innocence.

Overall, the court recognized the pattern of violence and intimidation that McBain inflicted on his partners over many years.

His actions, especially the assault involving tattooing and choking, demonstrated a blatant disregard for the safety and well-being of those he claimed to care for.

The four-year custodial sentence reflects the seriousness with which the justice system views domestic abuse and violent misconduct in the Kirkcaldy area.
