An elderly man named Francis Connelly, aged 75 and residing on Clentry Crescent in Kelty, has been formally sentenced after being convicted of serious sexual offenses involving two female victims. The incidents occurred over a brief period in late 2019, with one victim being only 14 years old at the time of the assault.

Connelly appeared before Dunfermline Sheriff Court to face sentencing after a trial where he was found guilty of multiple charges. The court heard that between November 30 and December 1, 2019, he engaged in inappropriate and indecent communication with a female, which included making sexual remarks towards her. The allegations further detailed that he physically touched and rubbed her on the body and vaginal area over her clothing, constituting a sexual assault.

In addition, Connelly was convicted of a separate but related incident on December 1, 2019, involving a girl who was only 14 years old at the time. The court found that he seized her by the body, then proceeded to touch and rub her on her body and vaginal area over her clothing, actions that clearly constituted sexual assault on a minor.

Sheriff Alastair Brown addressed the court, attributing Connelly’s behavior to excessive alcohol consumption. He remarked that the root of the problem was that Connelly had
