SEPTEMBER 2008 Ex-council worker jailed for child porn AN EALING council worker who fantasised about raping and torturing little girls was jailed for 15 months today.

Francesco Genna, 33, who stored more than 17,000 sordid images of children being sexually abused on his computers, admitted charges of making, possessing and distributing indecent images and movies.

Genna, who also took up-skirt snaps of unsuspecting females on his mobile phone, was snared after sending pictures and films of children being abused to an undercover cop posing as a sex offender he had been chatting with online for eight months.

He boasted that he abused three girls when he was a teenager and told the cop: “I never stopped liking primary school girls.

At 15 I thought I was abnormal by the time I was 20 I knew I was a perv.” On February 2 this year officers from the Paedophile Unit swooped on his home, then in Agate Road, Shepherds Bush.

He confessed to having material stored on a pen drive but further images were found on two computers and memory sticks, along with a can of pepper spray.

Genna was working as a planning officer for Ealing Council when he was arrested, and resigned his post at Perceval House in June.

In interviews, he said he had lost interest in children since he became a godfather, and had only turned to child porn when an affair he was having with a married woman was discovered by her husband.

Charles Burton, defending Genna, said: “He made it clear in his interviews that what he was saying online was fiction and was part of what he admitted was a kind of bubble he had put himself into.

“He comes across as a very hardworking man from an ordinary, caring and loving family.” Genna was jailed for 15 months and also made the subject of a sexual offences prevention order and will have to sign the sex offenders’ register for ten years.
