Stevenage Sexual Abuser
A paedophile from Stevenage has been sentenced to six years in prison, with authorities praising the courage of his victim. Forbes Maxwell, aged 44 and residing on Lomond Way, was found guilty at St Albans Crown Court of five counts of sexual assault by touching and one count of sexual assault by penetration on November 14. The court sentenced him to a total of six years imprisonment, which includes an extended license period. The sentence also includes a four-year concurrent sentence for four counts of sexual assault by touching, and a one-year sentence for an additional count of sexual assault by touching. Maxwell is also subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and has been placed on the sex offenders' register. Sergeant Jean-Pascal Beecroft, the lead officer in the case, stated: "The victim has shown incredible bravery to report these offences to police. Becoming a victim of sexual assault is never your fault, and if you’ve been affected, please report it. We have specialist officers available to provide advice and support throughout the investigation. I hope this sentence will give the victim an opportunity to rebuild her life, safe in the knowledge that Maxwell will be spending a considerable amount of time behind bars."
