A former football coach in Herne Bay has been jailed for seven years after admitting to multiple sexual offences involving young girls.

Jack Anelay, 20, had previously been reprimanded but continued working with children, eventually assaulting a second victim in August last year.

The court heard he had shared his perverted thoughts with a mentor, who alerted authorities.

Anelay’s grooming and abuse led to lasting trauma, and the judge described his conduct as causing severe psychological harm.

The court emphasised the failure of the football club’s safeguarding procedures, and he was ordered to register as a sex offender for life.
