AYRSHIRE SEX OFFENDER FINLAY HUME JAILED FOR BRUTAL ASSAULTS ON FOUR WOMEN
A sex offender identified as Finlay Hume has been convicted of a serious series of sexual offences against four young women and has received a 12-year prison sentence.
Hume, aged 39 and from Fenwick, was found guilty of 13 charges relating to his reprehensible conduct spanning from June 2013 to November 2021 at various addresses across Ayrshire, including Kilmarnock and Fenwick.
During proceedings, it was revealed that Hume repeatedly made inappropriate remarks to his first victim, and subjected another woman to a brutal ordeal incluyendo rape while she was asleep, assault, stalking, and threats, including warnings he would report her to the police.
The victims endured significant trauma, with the final victim also suffering sexual assault and rape.
Hume appeared via video link from prison at the sentencing hearing.
His legal representative, KC Gary Allan, maintained Hume's innocence, but the court's judge, Lord Colbeck, described his actions as exploiting vulnerable victims' immaturity and noted Hume's denial of responsibility.
The court ordered that Hume be supervised for four additional years after release and imposed bans on contacting two of the victims.
Hume's behavior and the court's condemnation highlight the severity of his crimes and the lasting impact on the victims.
