FERDOUS AHMAD AND WOMAN SENTENCED IN LONDON CHILD SEX ABUSE CASE
Two individuals have been formally sentenced following a detailed investigation into the disturbing payments linked to child sexual abuse in London.The case, which spanned over a two-week trial at Snaresbrook Crown Court, culminated on Monday, 30 September, with convictions for both defendants.
Detective Constable Matthew Cranston, a member of the Central East Child Abuse Investigation Team, expressed his relief that justice has been served.
He emphasized the traumatic impact on the young victim involved, stating, "This has been a truly harrowing experience for the child and I am glad that both people involved have received appropriate prison sentences." He also highlighted ongoing concerns about the predatory behavior exhibited by Ferdous Ahmad, 38 years old, born on December 5, 1986, and residing on Queensbridge Road in Brixton.
Detective Cranston urged the public to remain vigilant and report any recognition of Ahmad or concerns about his interactions with children.
He advised contacting the police via the non-emergency number 101, reaching out through @MetCC on X (formerly Twitter), or submitting reports through the Metropolitan Police Service's official website.
Ferdous Ahmad was found guilty of multiple serious charges, including two counts of sexual assault, engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child, inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, sexual communication with a child, and two counts of causing a child to engage in sexual activity.
The court's verdict underscores the severity of his actions and the threat posed to vulnerable minors.
The female defendant, whose identity is being protected to prevent identification of the child victim, was convicted of causing a child to engage in sexual activity and inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.
Her sentencing took place alongside Ahmad's on Monday, 16 December, at the same court.
Ferdous Ahmad received a sentence of 12 years in prison, along with the imposition of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and a Restraining Order to prevent any further contact with minors.
The woman was sentenced to five years in prison, reflecting the gravity of her involvement in the case.
