HORSHAM WOMAN FATINAH HOSSAIN SENTENCED FOR GROOMING AND HARASSMENT IN HORSHAM
In October 2021, a disturbing case involving a woman from Horsham, Fatinah Hossain, unfolded in the courts, revealing a pattern of grooming, harassment, and malicious manipulation directed at a young schoolboy.Hossain, aged 25 and residing at Dutchells Copse in Horsham, was brought before Brighton Crown Court on Thursday, 21 October, where she pleaded guilty to serious charges related to her conduct.
Her convictions included one count of perverting the course of justice and another of engaging in sexual activity with a minor while occupying a position of trust.
The court heard that Hossain, who was working as a teaching assistant at a local school, developed an inappropriate infatuation with a pupil, which led her to engage in sexual misconduct and persistent harassment.
Judge Gold, presiding over the case, sentenced Hossain to a term of five years and four months in prison.
Additionally, she was declared a Registered Sex Offender indefinitely, with a Sexual Harm Prevention Order imposed for ten years following her release.
The court also issued an indefinite Restraining Order, forbidding her from any contact with the victim and several other individuals, as well as restricting her from entering specific areas within Horsham.
The judge described Hossain’s actions as a “remarkable campaign of harassment,” characterized by relentless, wide-ranging, and malicious behavior.
The court detailed how she used fake social media accounts to manipulate other children, making threats against at least one other child should they disclose her actions to authorities.
Through these false profiles, she issued significant threats of harm to the victim and his family, even claiming she would pay the boy to “drop the charges.” Hossain’s manipulative tactics extended further when she falsely claimed she was pregnant after the boy attempted to end their inappropriate relationship.
Her conduct was marked by a series of false reports and manipulations aimed at causing harm to the victim’s family.
She created multiple fake social media accounts, including one under the guise of a 14-year-old girl, to fabricate messages between herself and an adult family member of the boy.
Using these fabricated accounts, she attempted to sabotage the family’s reputation and even tried to have the family member lose their job.
Her malicious efforts continued with multiple false police reports, all aimed at falsely implicating the family.
It was not until March 2021 that authorities received sufficient evidence to prove that all her allegations were fabricated, leading to her further charges and subsequent remand.
Her actions, which spanned over several months, demonstrated a pattern of deceit and intimidation, culminating in her conviction and sentencing.
The case highlights the serious consequences of grooming, harassment, and malicious manipulation, especially when involving vulnerable minors and their families in the Horsham area.
