MUSLIM FATHER JAILED FOR DAUGHTER’S MURDER IN MANCHESTER
A devout Muslim man named Faqir Mohammed, aged 69, was sentenced to life imprisonment after murdering his daughter Shahida by stabbing her repeatedly in her head and stomach.
The incident occurred when Mohammed, upon returning home from evening prayer, discovered Shahida's secret boyfriend, Bilal Amin, in her bedroom in their family home in Longsight, Manchester.
Mohammed, described in court as a 'strict' and 'devout Muslim', became extremely enraged, especially after she tried to escape by jumping out of a window.
He then ran downstairs, caught Shahida in a headlock, and proceeded to stab her multiple times.
The court heard that Shahida was stabbed at least 20 times, with wounds on her head, chest, and stomach, ultimately leading to her death at Manchester Royal Infirmary.
The jury found Mohammed guilty of murder, and he was sentenced to life by Mr.
Justice Field.
