FAISAL KHAN AND SHOCKING SEXUAL ABUSE IN MANCHESTER
A 20-year-old man named Faisal Khan has been sentenced to prison after engaging in a disturbing series of criminal acts involving a schoolgirl in Manchester.Khan was found guilty of multiple charges related to grooming, sexual abuse, and supplying drugs to a minor, following a detailed trial at Manchester Crown Court.
The case revealed that Khan had established a troubling relationship with the young girl through social media, specifically Snapchat.
The initial contact was made via one of her friends, during which Khan complimented her and expressed admiration for her appearance, calling her 'pretty.' This online interaction quickly escalated to in-person meetings, which occurred nearly every day.
During these encounters, Khan would give her cannabis and engage in sexual activities, creating an increasingly dangerous and manipulative relationship.
Prosecutor Ben Lawrence outlined that Khan would often meet the girl in a nearby park, citing concerns that her mother might discover their meetings.
The court was shown evidence of over 3,000 messages exchanged on Snapchat, where Khan made efforts to make her feel special, often telling her he loved her and sharing kisses and heart emojis.
His actions included providing her with cannabis, alcohol, and nitrous oxide balloons, further exposing her to harmful substances.
The victim described her confusion about the nature of their relationship, unsure whether Khan considered her his girlfriend or not.
She expressed that what initially seemed 'cute' had turned increasingly 'sour' over time.
At one point, Khan suggested they could spend time together in a hotel room and even made explicit remarks about having sex with her, explicitly stating he would 'f*** her hard.' The court was told that Khan was fully aware she was a schoolgirl, as she had shared details about her education and even been picked up from school by him.
There were specific incidents that highlighted the severity of Khan’s misconduct.
On one occasion, she visited his home, where they engaged in sexual activity while his father was asleep in another room.
In another disturbing event, Khan picked her up along with her younger brother, offering both alcohol and drugs to prevent her brother from revealing their relationship to others.
The court also heard about a moment of jealousy from the girl, who called Khan a 'paedophile' after he picked up another girl in his car.
In response, Khan slapped her.
He also sent her messages implying secrecy, such as: '...so you can stay with me and no one gets caught.' The police became involved after a teacher at the girl’s school noticed a sexual image on her phone, which prompted an investigation.
During the trial, Khan denied having any sexual contact with the girl, claiming he had only met her three times and that at most, he had kissed her on the cheek.
He insisted that he was unaware she was still at school, believing she was in college, and denied any inappropriate behavior.
In April of the same year, Khan was convicted on multiple counts, including three charges of engaging in sexual activity with a child and one count of supplying her with cannabis.
The court reviewed numerous messages from Khan to the girl, in which he discussed bringing her cannabis and going for drives, indicating a pattern of grooming and exploitation.
Notably, Khan falsely claimed to be 17 when he was actually 19 at the time.
Judge Timothy Smith delivered the sentence, emphasizing the victim’s account of meeting Khan almost daily and being taken out in various cars.
The judge highlighted that Khan would pick her up from school and also collect her younger brother, with the intent of maintaining control over her.
Khan was found to have given her brother alcohol and cannabis to prevent him from revealing their relationship.
The judge criticized Khan’s attitude, noting his reluctance to accept responsibility and his dishonesty during police interviews and court proceedings.
He pointed out that the girl lacked the maturity and understanding to recognize unsafe situations and that Khan’s actions had made her feel 'special' through the affection of an older boy, which was a form of manipulation.
Concluding the sentencing, Judge Smith stated that Khan was fully aware that his conduct was wrong but continued to pursue it for his own sexual gratification.
Faisal Khan, of Milne Street, Oldham, was sentenced to four years and ten months in prison.
Additionally, he was placed under a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for ten years, banned from contacting the girl indefinitely through a restraining order, and registered on the Sex Offenders Register for life.
