BRENT MAN JAILED FOR LIFE FOR EX-GIRLFRIEND'S MURDER
A man has been convicted of murdering his ex-girlfriend who was found stabbed and strangled in her bathroom in north London.Sashana Roberts, 24, a mother-of-three, was discovered dead at her terraced home in Cricklewood last September.
Ezekiel Foster, 43, of Twybridge Way, Brent, had denied murder but admitted manslaughter.
He was sentenced to life imprisonment at the Old Bailey with a minimum term of 19 years.
The prosecution did not accept his plea of manslaughter and tried him for murder.
Sashana's mother, Lorna Roberts, described her daughter as a "bright and friendly girl" who loved dancing.
She was a loving mother to three children aged six, three, and one, who were present when Sashana was killed.
Mrs Roberts expressed her sorrow, stating, "She loved life.
I miss her every single day." She also mentioned the trauma inflicted on her grandchildren, especially the youngest, who she fears may be affected later in life.
Mrs Roberts revealed that her daughter had attempted to end her relationship with Foster two weeks prior to her death, emphasizing his possessive and controlling nature.
Acting Detective Chief Inspector Andy Manning stated, "Sashana Roberts died at the hands of a person she had been close to.
She had tried to end the relationship, but last September Foster used extreme violence and killed her, not appearing to give any thought to her young children who were in the house at the time."
