ANDREW CALDRIA SENTENCED TO 20 YEARS IN PRISON IN READING FOR SERIOUS OFFENCES

Reading Rapist Child Sexual Abuser
A man has been sentenced to prison for multiple serious offences including rape and child cruelty in Reading. Andrew Caldria, aged 37 and of no fixed address, received a 20-year prison term at Reading Crown Court on Friday, May 24. In addition to his prison sentence, he was granted a lifelong Sexual Harm Prevention Order and a restraining order concerning his victims.

This sentencing follows a court hearing on Tuesday, April 2, during which a jury found Caldria guilty of several charges. These included five counts of sexual assault of a female under 13, one count of rape of a female over 16, two counts each of child cruelty and assault causing actual bodily harm. The jury also convicted Caldria, by a majority verdict, of one count each of rape of a female over 16 on at least five occasions and attempted rape of a female under 13.

He was, however, unanimously acquitted of two additional counts each of rape of a female over 16 and assault occasioning actual bodily harm, along with one other count of rape of a female over 16 on at least five occasions.
