LONDON MUSIC PRODUCER EVERTON GROSSETT SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEX OFFENSES ON 13-YEAR-OLD GIRL
A well-known musician and music producer from London has been sentenced to prison after being found guilty of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl on her birthday.Everton Grossett, aged 38 and residing on Mayall Road in Brixton, was convicted of multiple serious charges, including rape and indecent assault, following a trial held at Inner London Crown Court.
Grossett's criminal case revealed a disturbing pattern of abuse involving the young victim.
The jury found him guilty of one count of rape, as well as two counts of indecent assault, all related to five separate incidents.
These charges stemmed from a series of assaults that took place over a period, with the initial allegations surfacing during his first court appearance at Croydon Magistrates' Court in June of the previous year.
At that time, he faced a total of 13 child sex offense charges connected to the same victim, highlighting the extent of his alleged misconduct.
Public records indicate that Grossett is registered as a director of three music companies, where he is identified as a producer and sound engineer.
One of these companies, D3G3OFFICIALS, shares its name with popular social media accounts on TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram, where Grossett appears in short clips related to his music.
The company is also listed as 'Management' on a UK drill music video featuring three rappers, underscoring his involvement in the music scene.
The court heard harrowing details of how Grossett exploited his position and the vulnerability of the young girl.
During the abuse, he reportedly told her to 'be quiet' and used money to bribe her with sweets, further manipulating her.
The assault culminated in rape, which caused the victim to bleed.
She struggled to explain what had happened to her mother initially, but the truth was eventually revealed when she confided in her sister.
This revelation led to Grossett's arrest and subsequent trial.
In her emotional impact statement, the victim described her life before the abuse as 'happy and confident.' She referred to the night of the assault as 'unforgivable' and 'life-changing,' expressing the long and difficult journey she faced in summoning the courage to report the crimes.
She thanked her sister for providing her with the strength to speak out, acknowledging that it was a challenging process.
The girl shared her ongoing struggles, including nightmares and feelings of anger, and expressed hope that Grossett would never be able to harm anyone else again.
During the trial, Grossett's defense lawyer, Ms.
Farrelly, acknowledged that there was a pattern of conduct involving violence, particularly noting the bleeding incident.
She argued that Grossett's actions should be viewed in the context of his 'difficult' home life and highlighted his 'good character' since the offenses.
The court was also informed that Grossett has two children, aged 12 and 17, whom he has not been allowed to see since his conviction.
The mother of his children provided a character reference, describing him as 'an exceptional father,' and Ms.
Farrelly urged the judge to consider this positive aspect when determining his sentence.
Ultimately, Judge David Richards sentenced Grossett to a total of six years and eight months in prison.
The judge stated that Grossett's inability to control his impulses was evident and that his actions were driven by an uncontrollable appetite or compulsion to abuse the victim.
The sentence was structured so that Grossett will serve half of a two-year sentence for the multiple incidents of indecent assault, and two-thirds of a four-year and eight-month sentence for the rape.
Additionally, he received a concurrent 12-month sentence for another count of indecent assault, ensuring that Grossett will spend a significant period behind bars for his crimes.
