ERICA JONES FROM RUNCORN INVOLVED IN CHILD SEX OFFENCES AND FANTASIES WITH PETS AT HOME CO-WORKER IN GARRSON
In a disturbing case that has shocked the local community, Erica Jones, a 22-year-old woman from Runcorn, has been implicated in a series of heinous crimes involving child exploitation and disturbing fantasies shared with her former partner. The events unfolded over a period of time, revealing a troubling pattern of behavior that culminated in her recent conviction.
Back in 2019, Jones was employed at the Pets At Home store located in Garston, where she became involved in a sexual relationship with her co-worker, Phil Hudson.
Despite Hudson's existing relationship and his residence on Lincoln Street in Garston, the two engaged in a clandestine affair that was marred by twisted and illegal fantasies involving children.
Evidence in the form of text messages exchanged between Jones and Hudson clearly demonstrated their shared depraved thoughts about abusing minors, which they discussed openly through social media and messaging platforms.
In August of the previous year, Hudson, aged 33, was sentenced to 27 months in prison at Liverpool Crown Court after being found guilty of multiple child sex offences.
His crimes included sending explicit photographs and videos, one of which depicted him masturbating in the presence of a young child.
These materials were recovered from his seized mobile phone, which also contained other evidence of his offending.
However, the story did not end with Hudson’s incarceration.
Last week, Erica Jones, who resides on Holmefield Avenue in Runcorn, was also brought into the criminal justice system.
Her involvement was uncovered after she took the step of reporting her ex-lover’s crimes to the police, motivated in part by her own complex feelings and her desire to do the right thing.
Bernice Campbell, prosecuting in the case, explained that during her relationship with Hudson, Jones received and kept explicit images and videos, including photographs of Hudson masturbating in front of a young child.
These materials were stored on her mobile device, which she only disclosed to authorities in June 2022, claiming she had collected evidence to demonstrate Hudson’s paedophilic tendencies.
Further investigation revealed that Jones had also shared explicit images with her co-worker, which she received on dates spanning from June 2020 to January 2022.
Despite her claims of innocence and her assertion that she had no interest in children herself, her mobile phone contained numerous messages and images that implicated her in the sharing of child abuse material and in discussing sexual fantasies involving minors.
The messages, some too graphic to publish, included disturbing references to working with a young victim to perform sexual acts with Hudson, and even expressed regret that the child was not present during certain acts.
Jones was arrested on August 22 of the previous year.
During her police interview, she admitted to engaging in her co-worker’s fantasies and acknowledged possessing indecent images and videos.
She explained that her motivations for going to the police were partly driven by her frustration over Hudson’s refusal to leave his girlfriend for her.
Her actions led to her being charged with possessing indecent images of children and facilitating child sexual offences.
In court, Jones pleaded guilty to the charges, and her sentencing was handed down recently.
The judge sentenced her to 24 months in prison and ordered her to register as a sex offender upon her release.
The case has raised serious concerns about the extent of online child exploitation and the importance of vigilance in preventing such heinous crimes from going unnoticed.
