Crundale Sexual Abuser
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Crundale and the surrounding areas, Eric Tenain, a 50-year-old man with a troubling history, has been sentenced to a significant prison term following his latest conviction for child sexual assault. The proceedings took place at Swansea Crown Court, where the details of his crimes and the impact on his victims were laid bare.

Tenain, who has previously resided in St Davids and Trefin but was living in Crundale before his initial incarceration in 2015, was re-arrested after a second girl came forward to report her abuse. This led to his current sentencing, which includes a prison term of six years and four months. The court heard that Tenain had sexually assaulted a young girl when she was approximately seven or eight years old. The prosecution detailed how Tenain held the girl down on a bed and subjected her to sexual assault. When she pleaded with him to stop, he responded with violence, covering her mouth to prevent her from screaming and slapping her across the head.

During the court proceedings, Ian Wright, the prosecutor, explained that after his arrest, Tenain provided a brief, written statement to police but refused to answer further questions. Authorities also questioned him about a comment he made in 2015, in which he referred to “this horrible lust thing that I have,” but he declined to elaborate on this statement.

The victim, now a young woman, provided a victim impact statement in which she described suffering from flashbacks, nightmares, and a pervasive feeling that life was not worth living. Her testimony underscored the profound and lasting trauma caused by Tenain’s actions.

Tenain’s defense lawyer, Ieuan Rees, argued that the latest incident was a single occurrence rather than part of a pattern of conduct. He also mentioned that Tenain, who was born in France, intended to return to France once he was released from prison.

Judge Keith Thomas sentenced Tenain to serve a total of six years and four months in prison. Additionally, the judge ordered him to register as a sex offender with the police for the remainder of his life, emphasizing the seriousness of his crimes and the ongoing risk he poses to the community.

It is noteworthy that Tenain was already serving a four-year sentence at Swansea prison, which he received in June 2015 after admitting to sexually assaulting an eight-year-old girl. At that time, he also pleaded guilty to possessing 176 indecent images, including 14 in the most serious Category A, with nine of these images being cartoon-like in nature. His previous conviction and ongoing criminal behavior highlight a troubling pattern of offending that has deeply affected multiple victims and the community at large.
