Eoin O'Toole, a man with a dark and violent criminal history, has been handed an additional 22 months in prison after engaging in a disturbing online sexual conversation with someone he believed to be a minor.The incident took place while he was incarcerated at North Sea Camp, an open prison near Boston, in Lincolnshire, where he was serving a life sentence for a brutal double murder.
According to court proceedings, O'Toole, aged 58, was caught in a sting operation conducted by a paedophile-hunting group.
The group had managed to identify him after he used a mobile phone, which he had smuggled into the prison, to send explicit photographs of his genitals.
The mobile device was discovered during a routine search of his cell, raising alarms about his ongoing dangerous behavior.
It was revealed that O'Toole had purchased the mobile phone from an Asda supermarket in January while on temporary license release, a program that allows prisoners limited freedom outside the prison under supervision.
The following month, he engaged in sexually charged conversations with a Facebook user he believed to be a 14-year-old girl.
The court heard that during these exchanges, he initially used the alias 'Danny Cardiff' but later admitted his true identity, revealing that he was serving a life sentence for murder.
