ZIMBABWEAN MAN SENTENCED TO 8 YEARS BEHIND BARS IN UK FOR 2021 RAPE
A Zimbabwean man was sentenced to eight years in prison in the UK for a rape that occurred in Wolverton in 2021.Emmanuel Jeche, aged 28, was found guilty by a jury after an eight-day trial, and this conviction was announced at Amersham Crown Court on Thursday, July 2, 2026.
The assault took place in the early hours of June 12, 2021, in Wolverton, Milton Keynes, when Jeche was 23.
The victim reported the incident to police the following day, June 13, initiating an investigation.
Jeche was arrested on June 14 and admitted to having sexual relations, though he claimed they were consensual.
Following a trial at Amersham Crown Court, Jeche was convicted of rape in May 2026, and subsequently sentenced to eight years in prison.
Milton Keynes CID investigator David Brandon described the sentencing, noting that no punishment can undo the harm caused by sexual violence.
He expressed hope that the punishment would help the victim find closure and move forward.
Brandon also commended the victim’s resilience during the investigation and court proceedings.
He reaffirmed Thames Valley Police’s dedication to scrutinizing sexual offences, supporting victims, and prosecuting offenders.
Jeche’s case, starting with the report in June 2021, culminated in his conviction over five years later.
