Brown, who had been an instructor at the swimming pool located in Northumberland Park since 1995, used his long-standing position of trust to commit these heinous acts.
The court heard how he conducted swimming lessons for children in the area, during which he exploited his authority to carry out his criminal activities.
The abuse took place over nearly a decade, from 2010 to 2019, highlighting a prolonged breach of trust.
The police investigation began after receiving separate reports in June and July of 2020.
These reports came from girls, all under the age of 13 at the time, who recounted their experiences and singled out Brown as the perpetrator of the sexual assaults during their lessons.
Subsequently, a third girl came forward with her own account of being sexually assaulted by Brown during a swimming session.
Following a thorough investigation and legal proceedings, Emmanuel Brown was convicted of the offenses, and his sentencing is scheduled to take place at the same court in February.
The authorities emphasized the gravity of Brown’s actions and the danger he posed to children within the community.
Detective Constable Andri Andreou, who is part of the North Area Command Unit, issued a strong condemnation of Brown, describing him as "a dangerous sexual predator" who "poses a significant risk to young children." The detective condemned Brown’s behavior as utterly deplorable, noting that he exploited his role to commit these sustained sexual assaults.
