Basildon Child Abuser Rapist Child Sexual Abuser
On Thursday, March 16, Emlyn Hann, aged 31 and residing on Goldings Crescent in Basildon, faced the court to answer for serious allegations of sexual misconduct involving a minor. The proceedings took place at Basildon Crown Court, where Hann was formally sentenced to four years behind bars after admitting guilt to several charges related to child sexual abuse.

The case came to light after a courageous victim came forward in October 2020, revealing that they had endured multiple sexual assaults during their childhood. This disclosure prompted immediate action from law enforcement authorities. Essex Police, recognizing the gravity of the allegations, swiftly identified Hann as the primary suspect and brought him in for questioning.

Following a comprehensive investigation conducted by the Child Abuse Investigation Team within Essex Police, Hann was formally charged with multiple counts of sexual offences against a minor. The charges included one count of sexual assault of a child, two counts of rape of a child under the age of 13, and two additional counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.

In November, Hann entered a guilty plea to all the charges brought against him. The court proceedings culminated on March 16, when Hann appeared before the judge at Basildon Crown Court. The judge sentenced him to four years in prison, reflecting the severity of his crimes. Additionally, Hann was subjected to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which aims to restrict his activities and protect the community from further harm. He was also issued an indefinite Sexual Notification Order, requiring him to register as a sex offender and comply with ongoing monitoring and restrictions.
