CONTROLLING BOYFRIEND JAILED FOR BRUTAL ASSAULT AFTER TIKTOK ROW
Elliott Carlile, 26, from Porth near Newquay, was convicted of assault occasioning actual bodily harm after a sustained and violent attack on his partner.
The incident was triggered by her uploading a TikTok video.
Carlile's controlling behavior was extensive, including intercepting her birth control pills and controlling all aspects of her life.
The court heard that he had been in an on-and-off relationship with the victim for four and a half years, during which he had been physically and emotionally abusive.
On the day of the assault in May 2020, Carlile subjected his partner to a brutal attack, including putting his hands around her neck, shaking her, elbowing her to the collarbone, dragging her by the hair, and hitting her over the body.
He then drove off, threatened to harm himself and their child, but returned to continue the assault, again dragging her by the hair and kneeing her in the face while making threats.
The victim was eventually saved by her mother when she arrived, and she later attended hospital claiming she was hit by a horse.
The court also heard she suffers from PTSD and has flashbacks related to the incident.
Carlile was sentenced to 15 months in prison and a restraining order was put in place.
