Elle Aiton, a 20-year-old woman residing in Bellshill, Lanarkshire, has confessed to engaging in a sexual relationship with a minor, a 14-year-old boy. The troubling affair reportedly began after the two initially connected online, which eventually led to in-person meetings at her residence. During these encounters, they engaged in acts of cuddling and kissing, with the situation escalating to more intimate behaviors.

On one particular occasion, both individuals undressed in her bedroom, and Aiton placed her hand inside the boy’s underwear. She also permitted him to touch her, although they later agreed that pursuing further sexual contact was 'unwise.' The relationship was uncovered when the boy was reported missing and was subsequently found inside Aiton’s home. The boy later disclosed details of their relationship to the police between July and September 2023, prompting an official investigation.

Elle Aiton appeared before Hamilton Sheriff Court, where she admitted to engaging in sexual activity with the boy, fully aware of his age at the time. The prosecution outlined that she had visited the boy at his residence, spending time with him and being conscious of his young age. Court records revealed that their relationship persisted throughout the summer of 2023, with multiple instances of undressing, kissing, and sexual touching. Specifically, Aiton placed her hand into his trousers and allowed him to touch her inappropriately.

In August 2023, the pair was again seen kissing at her house, but both recognized that continuing their sexual contact was 'unwise,' leading them to decide to end their relationship. Following the police investigation, Aiton was traced and subsequently arrested. The court has deferred her sentencing until next month to allow for further reports, and she has been placed on the sex offenders' register, marking a serious development in this case involving a minor and an adult in Lanarkshire.
