According to court proceedings at Cardiff Crown Court, Tina, a 24-year-old woman with autism and a history of emotional difficulties, was subjected to a brutal assault by Edward Weeks, aged 33, at his residence in Cwmbran, Torfaen.
The assault occurred after Tina fell asleep at Weeks' home, clutching her beloved teddy bear, a symbol of her childlike innocence and vulnerability.
The court heard that Weeks had installed motion-sensitive cameras in his bedroom, which recorded the attack without Tina's knowledge.
The following day, Tina discovered the footage on Weeks' phone, which he had recorded during the assault.
This revelation was devastating for her, as she was already grappling with her mental health issues, including self-harm and suicidal thoughts.
The court was told that Weeks had allowed Tina to use his phone to play a game, during which she found the video of her assault.
