EDWARD WALTON FOUND GUILTY OF SEXUAL OFFENCES IN HOVE
A man named Edward Walton has been convicted of multiple sexual offences involving children.Walton, aged 55, was found guilty on April 8 at Hove Crown Court of six charges related to incidents that occurred between 2004 and 2015.
The first charge concerned an incident from around 2004 to 2006, during which he exposed himself to a young girl while riding a milk float.
Walton was acquitted of a separate charge alleging he caused that girl, then about 11 years old, to watch pornography.
Regarding a second girl, Walton was convicted on three counts of sexual assault and two counts of causing her to view pornography.
She was reportedly nine or ten years old at the time of these offences.
Throughout the reading of the verdicts, Walton displayed no emotion as the jury foreman confirmed the unanimous guilty decisions.
Police confirmed that these offences took place at addresses in Littlehampton and Barnham, where Walton was residing during the relevant periods.
During the hearing, Walton's defence attorney, Jack Talbot, stated that Walton is currently serving time at HM Prison Littlehey in Cambridgeshire for other serious sexual crimes.
At the conclusion of the trial, Judge Anthony Hawks, the Recorder, expressed appreciation to the jury for their service, describing the case as "difficult".
Walton is scheduled to be sentenced at Hove Crown Court on June 10.
