| Red Rose Database
Hull Child Sexual Abuser
Dylan Templeman, a man with a disturbing history of sexual offences, carried out a series of heinous acts across east Hull, targeting women as they made their way home late at night. His reckless and predatory behavior included driving around the area with the intent to find victims, and he was caught on camera engaging in sexually inappropriate acts with at least one woman, whom he filmed while grabbing and touching her intimately as she was walking alone.
On September 21 of the previous year, Templeman committed two separate sexual assaults. The first incident occurred at approximately 12:20 a.m., when he grabbed a woman on her bottom. Later that night, around 1 a.m., he approached another woman on Bedale Avenue and subjected her to unwanted, intimate contact. These assaults added to his troubling pattern of predatory behavior, which was further compounded by his involvement in a social media group that shared and recorded lewd acts performed in public spaces.
In addition to these assaults, Templeman was responsible for exposing himself to a mother and her stepdaughter on September 14. Investigations revealed that he also possessed indecent images of children, highlighting the severity of his criminal conduct. The police were able to identify and apprehend him after the victims provided descriptions of their attacker, and authorities traced his vehicle to establish his involvement.
Evidence presented in court included footage captured by Templeman himself, which served as crucial proof of his guilt. It was also revealed that he had previous cautions related to sex offences and battery, indicating a pattern of concerning behavior. The court heard how Templeman’s actions exploited vulnerable women, especially those walking alone at night, and emphasized the gravity of his offences.
In sentencing, the judge handed down a prison term of two years and seven months. Additionally, Templeman was subjected to a lifetime sexual harm prevention order and was required to register as a sex offender for life. The court highlighted that his involvement in an online group where members boasted about their lewd acts and encouraged others was a significant factor in the case, illustrating a disturbing online culture that facilitated his criminal activities. The judge underscored the seriousness of his crimes and the need for ongoing supervision to protect the community from further harm.
