FORMER METROPOLITAN POLICE OFFICER SENTENCED FOR SHARING CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE MESSAGES
An officer has been dismissed from the Met and sentenced for sharing messages about sexually abusing children less than a month after being arrested. He faced formal charges on October 8 for two counts under the Obscene Publications Act.
Bouette made an appearance at Westminster Magistrates’ Court the next day, October 9, and pleaded guilty to all charges.
On November 6, he appeared again at the same court, where he was sentenced to 18 months in prison, suspended, and ordered to perform 200 hours of community service.
He was also issued a criminal behaviour order valid for three years, which restricts him from having unsupervised contact with minors and limits his ability to use certain digital devices.
Superintendent Lynne Forster, leading law enforcement efforts in North East London, commented: “PC Bouette’s behaviour was completely unacceptable and specialist officers moved swiftly following information received.
“PC Bouette’s guilty plea meant an accelerated misconduct hearing was organised and he was dismissed on Tuesday (November 4).
From his arrest to dismissal and sentencing has taken less than a month, showing our determination to tackle offending by our officers.
PC Bouette will also be added to the Barred List held by the College of Policing, meaning that he will not be allowed to serve as a police officer again”.
The court proceedings included information that Bouette sent several messages related to child sexual abuse on November 18, 2024.
It was also reported that he communicated over a secure messaging platform between October 2 and 3 about extreme and violent sexual acts.
According to the Metropolitan Police, they acted on information received on October 7, resulting in his arrest.
