In a significant case that has shocked the community of Guernsey, Duane Green, aged 30, has been sentenced to more than six years in prison after being convicted of multiple indecent assaults involving two young girls. The incidents, which spanned over a period of six years, came to light during a detailed trial held at the Royal Court in June.

Green faced four charges related to his alleged misconduct. The court heard that he had denied all accusations, which included two counts of indecent assault against a girl under the age of 10, referred to in court documents as Miss A, and two counts against a girl who was a pre-teen at the time, identified as Miss B. The Crown advocate, Fiona Russell, presented the case, reading out the indictment and emphasizing the facts of the allegations.

During the proceedings, it was revealed that two of the charges concerning one of the victims were specimen counts, indicating that these assaults occurred on multiple occasions. The court was informed that the offenses took place over a period of several years, highlighting a pattern of troubling behavior by Green.

Following the week-long trial, Judge Russell Finch delivered the sentence, reflecting the severity of the crimes committed. The case has garnered considerable attention within the community, raising concerns about the safety and protection of vulnerable children in Guernsey. Green’s conviction and subsequent sentencing serve as a stark reminder of the importance of justice for victims of such heinous acts.
